Revitalization Plan Timeline
On February 21, 2006, Main Street Atlantic City launched
the commencement of a comprehensive Downtown planning
initiative with a reception and check presentation ceremony
at the Absecon Lighthouse. Over one hundred guests were
in attendance, including Atlantic City Mayor Bob Levy,
NJ General Assemblyman James Whelan, members of the Atlantic
City Administration and the City Council, and representatives
from the State of New Jerseys Office of Smart Growth
and Department of Community Affairs.
The planning process was comprehensive in scope and included extensive community outreach. The Final Plan was completed in August 2007. Implementation of the Plan is expected to take between 5 - 10 years. |
